If you're a blog lover who is into fashion and sophistication in the girl world, there's a pretty good chance you've heard of Tavi Gevinson aka "Style Rookie". The 15 year old Chicago native (previously known for her quirky attitude and silver hair) has been on the blog scene since 2006. The fashion week frequenter since the age of 13, began her endeavors when she was just 11 years old. Since blowing up on the Web, the fashion mogul has been spotted on the sidelines of the hottest runways, rubbing elbows with fashions most respected names. She has also been featured in magazines like Pop, Teen Vogue, French Vogue, etc. Needless to say she's a badass whose maturity and whit has helped her to rise to the top. Recently she launched her own Web zine, RookieMag, which came as no surprise to her followers who would expect nothing less from the fashionista.
Her latest project is a part in a short film, written and directed by Jonah D. Ansell, titled "Cavader". In this 2D love story, Tavi plays alongside Christopher Lloyd and Academy Award winner, Kathy Bates, in the story of a cadaver who awakes to say his final goodbyes to the love of his life, or what once was. During the film, the well cultivated teen showcases yet another one of her talents as she covers Neil Young's 1972 hit, 'Heart of Gold', which was made possible after gaining approval from the singer himself. She refers to the film as "the least sappy but most tender love story", which in my opinion has somewhat of a zombie appeal. The 7 minute film is set to release and be available for download later this year, and I'd have to say, the suspense is killing me, no pun intended.
